It might be one of those CPUs where, if you already have one, you might wanna keep it. But if you don't have one, it may not make sense to buy one. If I recall right, it has a hardware flaw that causes performance to be 60%-70% of its full potential. The flaw was fixed in the 3--- series. Plus, the last time I checked, the cheapest refurbished legacy Intel CPU might've been the 3570K (or around there). So it may not have the value it once had. Plus, some i5-2500K users started upgrading their systems in 2023-2024. Some others may've upgraded this year. But there might be a few holdouts.
