Most people on Twitter don't care about politics and use it for many other things. BlueSky just fills one niche of social media and it's not enough to make an entire populated app.

Bluesky was created for the kind of people who were upset when Twitter stopped engaging in extreme censorship. The vast majority of people never really liked that censorship so why would they go to a site made specifically to cater to censorship lovers?

I made an account but really I just can’t be bothered building up yet another boring social networking profile. The only real reason I got into using twitter was to keep track of interesting people I met. A lot of social media stuff now seems to be about following as many slop accounts as you can find and jerking off in your self manufactured echo chamber of outrage. Fuck that.

Yeah, exactly. Few people on the right support censorship and the ones who do are usually nutty christcuckold types who have more in common with feminists than they do with other right-wingers. Most right-wingers prefer an open platform where they can just debate openly without getting banned for having the wrong worldview, so they have no reason to go to bluesky.

Leftists want censorship because it means when they get into a political argument they can accuse their opponent of racism, and then their opponent has to either cripple their own argument by working in the leftist's worldview, or say "yes I am a racist" and get banned immediately. When their opponent can say "yes I'm a racist" and then the leftist has to actually come up with a real argument in favour of whatever 1%-er bootlicker shit they're trying to argue for (mass scab immigration and such) they basically have nothing and just slink away in defeat.

Censoring people who disagree with them is their only card and Musk took it away from them.

People forget it wasn’t just censorship that made people try bsky, it was musk not getting rid of bots/jeets who get monetary incentive to spam the site
