Believe it or not, the biggest advancements in macos and windows come from copying shit that existed in linux for a decade, hell, windows 7 UI was a literal copy from every kde version released during the beta, and most of modern macos ui design choices are carbon copies from gnome 3.

Because no one likes gnome, not even gnome people like each other.
kde devs might be ragging leftists, but they at least have a crumble of humility to not insult and belittle their users, which is not something the average entitled gnome dev does, which most probably led to the dire financial state of the foundation.
