FUCK YOU WINBLOWS

>errm, we'll just.. prevent you from using all of your cpu, because.. we said so! you can restart your computer and use it again, but we'll just cap it whenever we want at our secret undisputed interval again

why does my windows seven installation on this same fucking machine not have this fucking problem? Why is Firefox eating up 23% of my CPU with 77 processes when I have a handful (6) of tabs open?

>don't look into *that*! don't you dare use the outdated OS with your outdated software either, its heckin INSECURE, and capping your cpu usage is actually good for you because it lowers your carbon footprint or something! its also suppooosed to use your cpu even if you're trying to program something!!!

I am a genuine anon and I'd like to say this fucking OS sucks ass. I'd rather go back to dealing with DLL errors on 7 instead of constant black screens (especially whenever I hover over a tab on Firefox) and my CPU being randomly cucked on 10 while trying to fucking program.

So you can be sure what you have in your pc
Win7 was the last good OS from W$ but not everything works in it anymore
Dunno about other threads, but if you install a custom OS be mindful of your bank accounts and passwords
There must be a setting to change to fix the processing problem then again you'll have to research, but at lest do try changing browser FF consumes a lot just by existing

I really wish I knew, I have one or two rigs that get inexplicably capped at 90% CPU usage according to task manager and I've never been able to figure out why, on one of them (a laptop) I can usually fix it by unplugging the power adapter and plugging it back in but that still doesn't explain why it's doing that

wangblows is doing it on purpose. I have a beefy modern PC with 128 GB of RAM and even when my cpu, ram, disk, network usage is way under 100% I still experience freezes and all sorts of weird shit. Sometimes the mask slips and I get a huge spike of 100% usage that rapes my PC and its 6 gorillion niggawatt CPU so hard my music becomes distorted (took me a while to figure out that one and I thought my headphones were dying). Yeah yeah, I disabled all the telemetry in registry, GPOs, etc.

I suggest you stick to 7 or move to Linux with your Athlon, if want to use 10 just upgrade hardware

I recommend you try Linux. If you want the best possible performance go for Arch. You'll have to read their wiki in order to install it, but it's worth it.
I wouldn't recommend Gentoo but that would be even better performance.
If you install Ubuntu you'll have sub-par performance compared to a bare-bones Arch install.

I've used Linux in the form of Alpine, before. I used it for the entirety of college on a laptop. I just don't like having to deal with autism like wifi not working and having to restart the fucking thing for it to connect again along with issues with sleeping. I'm afraid of similar or worse issues happening with Tinycore on this desktop and I'm not really experienced with anything except for Alpine. I used Spectrwm on that laptop and after months of not using it, i've forgotten all of my keybinds outside of opening a terminal, closing a window and exiting the window manager.

Not sure what approach to go for but I might just *see* what happens and maybe in the future I'll let everyone know of my experience, probably on some website or just making another thread here???
