Also, there are much higher targets to go after. What percentage of the web do you think runs on Debian or one of its downstream spinoffs? Linux is not at all immune from malware. In fact, by default it's probably easier to get infected on Linux than it is on Mac/Windows.
With that being said, ClamAV (which this project was a frontend for) isn't even really an antivirus. It's a virus scanner and doesn't do anything other than (potentially) identify if files on disk are malicious. The only actual antivirus that to my knowldge exists for Linux is Windows Defender (kek), but it's some enterprise thing and costs money.
