>the top 3 biggest companies in the world have been tech companies for the past 10 years
>"big tech" has been a thing for 20 years and trillions of market cap are locked up in tech
>the dot com bubble supposedly "burst" 25 years ago
>now billions are being poured into a mere "token prediction algorithm"
nobody realizes we are already living in a completely computer-based economy, this AI is just the "offshore drilling" moment of the 21st century

This is just another bullshit straw for twitter retards to grasp at, you used the same argument for bitcoin when bitcoin is a billion times more energy efficient than the fucking physical banking system existing.
In america, we waste hundreds of billions of gallons on (likely out-of-date and inefficient) irrigation for crops like pistachios, we waste literal exajoules of energy on making sure everyone is forced to drive around a $600/mo boomerbox instead of doing work from home or having public transit.
In fact, a fucking quarter pounder takes like 700 gallons of water and billions of joules (if you only count the sunlight needed to grow the feed and not the energy cost of transporting/farming the cow) to produce.
If anyone really cared about the environment we would have concentrated humanity in a few vegan megacities and given everyone a cozy WFH job (which is literally the objectively correct way to structure civilization)
instead we have listen to directionbrained retards squabble over whether a thing that personally offends them is bad for the environment or too woke or something

the fact that banks exist as a physical location with people they have to hire will always mean their environmental impact will be greater than a completely digitized financial system that you can run on consumer hardware in a basement somewhere.
>what it does provide is mostly scams, drugs, gambling and evading sanctions that has net negative social value
yeah turns out a trustless system that's impossible to regulate has people doing unregulated, untrustworthy shit. You might as well complain that people were bootlegging during prohibition, my nigger, the whole point of bootlegging was getting around prohibition

By using water for any activity you alter the quality of the water, the rate of groundwater recharge does not increase proprotionally to water use because it takes years (even up to hundreds) for water to actually move through the ground back into aquifers and wells, the rate of fresh surfacewater production is also not infinite and you can "hog" surfacewater the same way you can "hog" the bandwidth on a network.
The billions of heads of cattle that exist (did you know that there's more biomass of cattle than human beings on earth) are not all fed by crops grown solely with rainwater, they use a significant amount of feed from irrigation.

We've discovered in practice that humans are better at figuring out true value unless there is massive fraud. And no, AI labs using "your" data that you posted to the internet for anybody to run arbitrary programs on isn't fraud. And no using a trillion gallons of water in some remote location isn't fraud.

What do you mean Bitcoin is more energy efficient you dumb nigger? Roughly quarter of all datacenter power is used for crypto, and less then few percent of people use it unlike the banking system. Crypto still consumes more energy then AI while being million times more useless. Literally just the first few searches and calculator to find this out. There is limited amount of clean water in the system. It is renewable but the more water you use for cooling the less water you will have for crops or households. Water does not rain instantly when you evaporate it and lot of dry places use ground water which is limited because the excess evaporated water usually goes to the ocean. If none of this was an issue then you would not have droughts and farmers rationing water for their crops.

Yeah, models that require ton of money to access, so nobody who does not make money uses it. Also
>Hunted food
People do eat venison today and there are still people who sell what they hunt, just isnโ€™t the primary food source
>Specialised craftsmanship
There are dedicated craftsmen for everything asking premium prices for often better goods and people buy that, itโ€™s just that there isnโ€™t that many of them
>Hand farmed
Lot of crops canโ€™t be harvested with combine harvesters, there was this whole deal with immigrant labour and picking berries during elections
>Self service
Lot of people hate this shit and small stores still all have clerks. Also nigger infested places have clerks just to prevent stealing and there will always need to be clerks for those places
>Art, programming
Yeah people donโ€™t like programmers which is kind of their fault because they were all pro AI until few months ago when AI agents started vibe coding for them, but when it comes to AI art the s0ijacks are 100% correct. Normies online hate AI more and more every month outside of India, even lot of pro-AI people on YouTube are starting to dislike it in this specific case.

Probably sometime next year, MAYBE the year after. OpenAI and Anthropic are starting to get tight on money, and if either declare bankruptcy, it will scare the hoes (investors). The big unanswered question is how long those two can make their money stretch before they either run out or it becomes too obvious to ignore that the profits are not and will never be there.
