This site can't make more than 100k a year. Is it really that cheap to run a site like 4chan? I'm not knowledgeable on the subject, but what hardware is this site running on?

I think you could calculate the hardware costs. I'd say it must not be expensive at all. in fact, I'd guess the biggest expense must be to run it behind cloudflare.
