I have been using Arch for over ten years and I never had anything break from doing -Syu.

But I had plenty of RHEL and offshoot distros at work and home, fail from dnf update.

Red Hat users are recovering Windows addicts. They haven't learned to completely let go of spyware yet. So they love Red Hat like a fat kid loves sugar-free cake.

There would be no Red Hat without Arch users. So, they should be thankful to us for keeping it going. If we decide to stop using Arch, Red Hat will die.

IBM doesn't get to spy on Arch users so they go in full force to smear it.

It doesn't. Arch is a simple distribution (as in they don't care about anything besides installing upstream packages) that focus on a single architecture and does not give a damn about licensing, if a package has non foss compatible licenses, they create the pkgbuild and license it instead.
Fedora is a distro that complies within US Laws and enforces an strict foss policy in their official repos (RPM and Flatpak) that support four architectures. Both are meant for different things, Fedora likes to push new packages and solutions with multiple ISOs meant for specialized tasks or users, they also have an Everything ISO where you can install your shit as if you were using Arch.
While Arch like to push upstream packages, and let the user decide on everything. Simple as that.
Both are good distros, meant for different purposes, no need to seethe at the other.
>But Arch is supported in other architectures
Those are not official distros, many Arch users ignore Arch is x86_64 only.

>arch conforms with all redhat standards
Why would redhat seethe? Arch is basically a vassal of redhat.
Now artix, devuan, void, etc. Those make redhat seethe.

I've never had this issue. If I don't update for a while I do have to run Syu so the package stuff syncs and I can install packages again but nothing has really broken for me even on systems where I didn't bother to upgrade for a year.

>Community distros make Red Hat seethe
kek no, Oracle and CiQ are the ones making Red Hat seethe, not community distros who may use or not their standards, kek, what company do you know uses Devuan, artix or void for deploying server infrastructure at data centers? If it steal them market share an sales, sure, community distros don't do that, it's expensive as fuck to do so, you can try it.

well thats a lie
Every single arch install got fucked when they had the signing key fiasco a couple years ago
And theyve borked the python update more than once. This one isnt unique to arch, though. It happens on a lot of distros

Yeah that was a huge problem. They added some random zoomer dev and used his brand new signing key on a bunch of packages which prevented everyone from pulling them with pacman. Including arch-keyring, the package which would have loaded his key, lmao. They somehow tried to blame the users for this
