just switched back to winodows yesterday, deleted my arch system for windows 11. arch was great, it was fast, felt nice, looked good, super private
1. my system and software just encortered so many errors and glitches, yes, it was usually my fault and i messed up something trying to update, or install or change a setting or stuff like that, but that just wasted so much of my time solving it
2. i felt limited with the stuff i could use, like danvici resove or games like fortnite
3. i have nvidia card, and the drivers are much better for windows
4. i paid 2k for my system, i got annoyed and wanted my moneys worth
5. every part of the system is totally automated on windows so its super conienent. saving so much time.
still like linux, im literally typing this on linux mint laptop. but i was tired of not getting anything done

Microsoft is throwing in the towel on Windows 11 UI development. They've announced they're open sourcing the UI layer of Windows 11 and turning it over to the community, like they did for various desktop frameworks. Microsoft will still have employees work on Windows 11 UI but the process will be community driven, with Microsoft employees there to support development instead of driving it.
There is also hope that this will open the market for third party developers to sell alternative UIs for Windows 11. These UIs won't necessarily have to be web based like the Windows 11 UI Microsoft produced. It also means that the assortment of desktop environments and windowing managers from Linux could be ported to Windows 11.
Windows 11 will be the most open Microsoft operating system ever, increasingly directed by the user community instead of by executives at the company.
The new policy will be enacted in phases over the next six months as various UI systems are readied for release onto Github for development by the community.

No thanks. I knew it wasn't worth reading when you mentioned arch.

Go back.

No, I just thought it was funny that Microsoft keeps turning large parts of its codebase over to "the community", expecting randos around the world to do Microsoft's coding for them. And it shows how little Microsoft cares about Windows anymore. It's all about Azure, Officer 365, Dynamics, and other cloud services now. Probably the only thing keeping the company from open sourcing all of consumer Windows and washing their hands of it are various licensed third party components in the OS that they can't legally open source. Consumer Windows doesn't make much money. Licenses for Windows Server still makes some money but Microsoft would prefer those customers move everything into Azure.
