What's the point of all this technology if it can't provide you with affordable housing?

The point is to keep us all busy until we go extinct. I can't wait. Antinatalism gang rise up. Or don't, we're winning either way. Eternal nothingness is heaven, therefore existence is hell.

But seriously stop shitting up the board with coomer bait.

Get a job
Work hard
Set your expectations

>get hired for a standard janitor job for $16/h
>do work 40 hrs a week
>upkeep cost of $1500/m due to rent/food/utilities
>put $800 into savings accnt each month
In 1 year, you've saved up $10K

In 5 years, you've saved up $50K (excluding all the interests you've gained, excluding all the pay increase, skill increase, etc)

Thats your down payment on a house right there. You can now get a $200K house with $50K down payment (~25% of the house cost). Then you pay your house off over the next 20 years, while starting a family and living a comfortable life.

Thats a fucking janitor. Anyone making 5 figures can buy a $200K house in <5 years if they save up.

There's plenty of affordable housing. You've used technology to watch Netflix to propagandize yourself into believing you must live in a trendy urban center and that life isn't possible anywhere else. You can have a house, you just don't want a house that won't make your fellow normie consumers jealous.
While you are coming up with endless excuses to justify your 'sell low, buy high' lifestyle, people your age but far more intelligent than you are buying homes in smaller communities for pennies on the dollar. While you're thinking of excuses, they're finding solutions. There is no technological solution for you because there's no tech solution for being stupid.

And nowadays with Starlink, you can live anywhere in the world too, with access to highspeed internet and a mailbox somewhere nearby, any place in the world can deliver any goods/services. Its literally that easy. Combine that with a cheap car, you can afford to live in your own home at almost any budget.

https://www.erieri.com/salary/job/janitor/australia

Australia's minimum wage is $23 isn't it? Whats the janitor pay like? $30/h? So thats roughly double what US janitor could make. 40 hr /week prob gets roughly double pay. Housing/utilities prob cost double, so that evens out. So instead of $10k/y saving, its prob $20K/y saving. In 5 years, thats $100K in savings(excluding any increase in pay, any job advancements, zero skill labor)

So $100K is spent on downpayment on a house of $400K, a 25%. Am I missing something that you're trying to point to but Im not able to understand?

The affordable housing technology is called "concrete". It's a kind of artificial stone made of slaked lime, sand and water. After mixing, it remains fluid for a time, and you can pour it into a cast, but after a few hours it solidifies, and becomes very durable and weather-resistant. You can cast whole buildings this way, or cheaply manufacture rectangular panels that can be easily assembled into buildings.

And honestly, if you have zero skill, then you should go into construction or something. They pay like $30-50/h or driving a truck. If someone is that incompetent, the least they can do is carry stuff and drive right? Janitor is just for illegals/immigrants too

So in reality, you can get a house lost faster. Further, if you're driving or something, you can live in the car or a van or truck and not have to pay monthly rent. That saves a fuck ton of money. Especially if you're young and have no family obligation, this is basically how to make a living fast.

Made some job hops, career progress, gotten more experience and saved up almost 60k within 5 years while living with my parents. Sadly only moved out barely before getting 30 but at least i own my place and i really like the appartment i got. It's really hard to buy a home and i know many friends who have it worse so i can't complain. At least financially stuff is going well for now.

Even for those people outbid each other. homes listed for 220k are sold for 260k or even more. it becomes a game of who can dump his savings the most

just work harder then your parents for less. its simple economics. as time progresses the poor get poorer and the rich get richer. all this progress is a good thing you just need to have that slave mentality. if we keep progressing your children might be able to only afford bread and water, the mark of true progress is when everyones living standards are reduced to barely survivable levels. we are maximizing resource efficiency by reducing living standards, its a good thing. we are literally saving the planet.

it doesn't mean it's easy. It's about thinking long term. Some friends i know are now renting a shithole barely bigger than closet and only just make ends meet.
But those went on more holidays, gotten a expensive car or stuck with student dept to pay off for 10 years. I's also a bit of luck. When you're done, the jobmarket can change and then the thing you studied for suddenly isn't lucrative. Also i forgot that on the housingmarket you have to compete with couples too, which have more to spend

20 years ago, if the house was worth $100K, thats 10% down.

So your parents saved $2500 a year each on average for 2 years (after highscool/18).

Why dont you get a girlfriend/wife and save 2 years with $10K each year each doing janitor work? I mean if you have zero skill, janitor is the lowest job right? I assume you can get a better job than janitors.

Eh don't bother trying to argue with anyone.
Zoomers unironically believe they should afford the top 1% of real estate on a McDonald's wage and still have enough to afford high-end everything and uber-eats everyday.

They aren't actually interested in property ownership no matter how much they scream.
