My niece got a used iPhone 12 bought from refurbed.com, a platform for refurbished technical items. We set up the phone, and she entered a passcode. However, she changed the passcode to something different from the one she used before, and now she doesn't recognize it. We've tried several times, but now the iPhone is locked with a 9-hour waiting time every time a wrong code is entered. We tried to restore it on my Mac, but after restarting, there is no option to set it up new; instead, the waiting time still appears.

What can i do to restore it?
