Has anyone here ever actually used Meshtastic in any of their projects? I've been seeing it be discussed more and more but I haven't really seen anything neat with it

Been planning on using meshtastic as a kind of field-deployable perimeter intrusion detection system as you can pipe GPIO sensor event over mesh node.
Sounds very mission impossible 007 shit
but basically to detect bears or wanderers into our camp when /out/. The recently announced meshpager looks awesome but it is not cheap.
And then there is the whole meshtastic as disaster comms platform prepper thing which everyone wants to use it for.
