What hardware calculator do you use?
an HP-16C that I inherited from my dad
>>106119674 (OP)HP48G. Display's been a lil wonky last 4 years or so, but I intend to have it replaced pretty soon (display, not calc).

I love the fx-115es like you wouldn't believe, this and the original model got me all through middle school, high school, and my engineering degree
>>106119767One of the nerds in my high school a while back started a war when he said one day that Casio was better than TI.
>>106119753Keyboard will die next.
Mine had issue where it would drop number here and there which could lead to catastrophic results since I work in finance so I stopped using it.
My brain
It can do multiplication and also sometimes division but only by multiples of 2 .
Interface is trash and compute is slow AF
>>106119767this shit is not allowed in schools
>>106119892It was in mine. You can also use it on the PE exam.
>>106119882That sucks. Emu48 for Android works just as fine, but I still prefer the experience on the real thing.

I have these left from school. Luckily I don't have to use them anymore.
>>106120615It's probably an OCD thing for me, but I detest the idea of a calculator not running it's software directly on top of bare metal.

I just bought one of these a few days ago, HP Prime G2, seems pretty badass, I suck at math, I'm excited to go back and study it properly from scratch now I'm older, I didn't really pay attention in school. I feel like after programming for years the math will come more naturally this time around, at least I hope so... if anyone has any advice I'd welcome it.
TI-89 but with the TI-83 faceplate. Helped me get through engineering school. Fucking vectors.
>>106119674 (OP)Japanese 23 Digit Touch Reset Soroban if you want skills
Concise 300 Circular Slide Rule if you want skills and log and sin tables but are willing to give up accuracy
TI-36X if you need speed on exams
TI-84CE if you need power
>>106120732Still faster than a 48G by a country mile and doesn't use unobtanium and small memory. And it still has the serial and IR ports. It's based.
>>106120790Prime needs a 50g-esque total conversion mod and it'd be perfect.
>>106120968I agree, but my tech OCD won't let me touch it. 48 or death.
>>106120272The silver.... Oh Lord it's so majestic i still have mine laying around somewhere easily the best calculator i have ever had
>>106119674 (OP)A Linux computer, as every normal man.
I mostly use it for personal finances.
>>106120999Checked, there's a new firmware for the DM42, DB48x, worth checking out. Goal is an enhanced 48/50 type and it's already like 70% of the way there.
>>106119674 (OP)Is there anything cool I can do with this piece of shit or is it ewaste?
>>106119674 (OP)the one that gets the right answer
>>106123564If you used RPN you wouldn't have this problem.
>>106123574>problemthe calculators got the answer correct
>>106123574HP calculators win again.
>>106119753I have that model I find that a 50 cent replacement plastic film polarising filter fixes the screen. The old piece of filter plastic film degrades over time and stops working. It's that cheap to fix.
