If ISPs start mandating ID verification, how would people be able to get around that? What do they do in China?

v2ray or other obfuscating proxies/vpns like shadowsocks afaik. They aim to conceal your traffic by making it seem like a "ordinary" traffic with various methods.

thereโ€™s never been true anonymity on an isp/global institutions internet anway >>106120247. itโ€™s always a game of tag. wake me up when we truly switch over to wireless adhoc kinda shiet

Not everywhere. I think they are trying to do this for the rest of the EU at least. Some countries don't need that.
I pretty remember that even in the UK I was able to get one but that was literally over 6 years ago.

in the UK you can do it easily, most supermarkets and petrol stations carry sim cards. vouchers are harder to get hold of, only some supermarkets have them. but you can just buy online anyway

i was greatly surprised to find that I needed to present my passport to get a prepaid sim in (some of) the eu. shit is weird, doesnt even seem like theres a proper law. in poland the man at a phone kiosk said i needed ID, but then I got a free sim and added credit with voucher just fine.

When every western government gives undying support to israel in their genocide then yes it's the fucking jews. Update your script, "lol u basement nazi" doesn't work as well when israeli soldier funerals have their grieving widows recall with love how their husbands talked about going to gaza to murder children and demolish houses

In China they use anonymizers and image boards. Everything else needs a WeChat or Weibo account.

most of the websites you visit cannot access your credit card information and the ones that do have specific laws restricting what they can do with it. Hope this clarifies your misunderstanding

Pretty sure most ISPs don't card their customers.
They ask for address, credit card information, etc. but they want your money not your driver's license.
