I recently switched from Wayland back to x11 because all my Qt apps had weird green graphical artifacting. Haven't really noticed any difference other than the lack of HDR and fixed Qt problem

the nice thing about having a cli/tui centric workflow, is that you eventually start giving two fucks about all the wayland-vs-x drama.
As long as you don't have too much melanin that may hinder your ability to use the command line, you'll be fine, whether it's on a plain terminal, xorg, xenocara, wayland, mir, arcan, etc etc...
