Why do tech youtubers act like a little dust is all it takes to completely destroy a desktop computer?
A few puffs of air once a month to once every 3 months is all it takes to get rid of 90% of buildup and it takes years of neglect to cake most systems with the type of dust buildup to actually damage components. It takes me longer to unplug the peripherals and bring the tower outside than it does to actually blow the dust out. And why are these motherfuckers wearing masks like they're dealing with powdered asbestos?

Exactly right anon, it's the same with nerds that talk about airflow like it's still 2004 and you can't run everything at max on a 5 year old laptop.

Tech youtubers are all about optics. Look at their setups, they're the most pristine showcase builds like picrel.
And a little bit of dust ruins that.

What do they actually do with the computer? Is all that truly necessary for games?

they have nothing to talk about so they exaggerate things to make "content"
the entire PC nerd space is like this, /g/ is surprisingly neutral about a lot of shit like this but holy fuck have you ever looked through PC forums sections about new build plans? people are fucking insane

check this nuts shit out
https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/upgrade-from-old-x58-system.338889/
OP needs an upgrade from their old xeon, they have a 1070, they mostly do autocad and old games, autocad is struggling a bit with the old xeon
important bits?
>single core performance (because autodesk products lol)
wants a reasonable upgrade for their pretty basic workload

the first fucking recommendation?
>a 9950X on X870
>fucking $1200
>other people think this is also a good idea
>even more people are also suggesting a GPU upgrade

the tech youtuber space has ruined these people, they have nothing in their heads except
>consoooom
and theyre all like this, any modern tech community is basically brainwashed by these retard tech youtubers who do nothing but talk about how you should just spend more to buy the high end shit
OP in that thread needs like a 12400F and theyll be set for another decade of autocad, but instead community consensus is a $1000 upgrade

Tech forums are full of literal company shills. Way back in the day there was a guy named Rollo on the Anandtech forums who was a paid nVidia media contractor or some shit who did nothing but tell people to buy nVidia and shit on ATi cards.

Because otherwise retards like you who watch them for advice, will let dust cake up entire inside of their computer, until it starts bootlooping from overheating, and that's the best outcome, some of you retarded niggers have their whole houses burn down because of being this braindead.

manufacturing jobs I've had always had computers on the factory floor from 2005 with internals full of 20yrs of dust, abrasive powders, polishing compounds, sawdust, metal swarf, oils, surrounded by machines and they NEVER seem to die

>Tech forums are full of literal company shills
In reality the entire tech space is just a shill game for Taiwanese companies.
Any single person who gets products or samples for free on the regular is a shill or useful idiot at best.

And the fucking cattle eat it up to.
>oh wow this guy shat on a product that was provided for free, so based and way to stick it to brand X
>oh wow this higher priced product from brand X is so much better than the lower end one, this review must have integrity even if it was also free because the low end product got shat on

They really have everyone played like absolute fools

>tpu forums
Yeah that sounds about right, itโ€™s all shills and people with 30-40k posts whoโ€™ve done nothing but shill for free for the last 15 years

>What do they actually do with the computer?
Nothing, at least not on that computer. They usually have a dedicated room as a fashion statement for internet points and then a normal computer in a normal room where they do lite web browsing and some video editing.

Just because it doesn't look lived in, doesn't mean it isn't used.
