I ordered a new PC that will arrive soon. It will have Windows 11 installed. What are some best practices I should follow to ensure a smooth experience? I'm talking about bloatware, folder structure and stuff. I'd be using it for games, programming projects and uni work
Also I wanna install Linux on my old PC and run a server and play around with that

Disable visual animations. Go to advanced system settings and open the Performance Options window, select "Adjust for best performance", re-enable font related options so your text doesn't look like asscheeks, play around until happy. Adjust page memory if necessary (look it up). Enable "Game Mode" or whatever they call it now, disable notifications from annoying you in-game. Uhh it's been ages since I've used Windows and a lot has probably changed, I can't remember the rest.

Yes desktop, do the specifics matter? Nvidia 5060 Ti, Amd ryzen 5 7500f, 2TB SSD and stuff

Alright sounds good, I'm talking more about keeping it clean and organised though, rather than raw performance

Consider installing Windows 10/11 IoT Enterprise LTSC:
https://massgrave.dev/windows_ltsc_links
It comes without a lot of the normal Windows bloatware.

i used https://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10 in the past to deactivate most of the spyware / bad "improvements". they get reset on system updates occasionally, but you can just untick them again

Dual boot. Use Windows for gaming and Linux for everything else.
