GNOME but Windows instead of Mac.
>>106132294 (OP)not a fan of the OSD spam it's become, a la GNOME. also a lot of older themes flat-out broke OSDs with one of the newer versions last year so aside from spamming, they look awful. picrel just replicated in a VM
>>106132502honestly pretty much, if I installed dash to panel I'd probably struggle to tell the difference
>>106132564What did the previous one look like? Just needs the option to match the GTK theme you have.
>>106132294 (OP)I gave it a shot. I truly wanted to just use Vanilla Linux Mint like I did way back with Mint Helena (8), but I just couldn't. I have been ruined by xmonad w/ dmenu & xmobar. I haven't found a more fun way to use GNU+Linux.
>>106133589still waiting for it to krash
Cinnamon is my favorite Linux DE. Its the only one with decent theming with mint icons y that looks alright.
In order
LXQT is alright but the theming is awful by default, though I do love the remade QT apps like pavucontrol-qt and pcmanfm-qt
KDE is too bloated and buggy(sound panel sliders were broken laggy for over 6 months on plasma 6)
MATE is not designed well, but its better than XFCE.
XFCE is too old and its badly designed, laggy(add to panel doesn't even add it to the left side lmao).
Modern Gnome is even worse than all of the above.
The only good Linux OS is Linux mint because theres none other than them that are making such a polished ecosystem that reminds me of a fresh install of windows, but on Linux.
Everything is so cohesive
>>106132294 (OP)Because Mint just customized Gnome 2 before, but then Gnome 3 was such a clusterfuck that they had to fork it to make it usable.
