In theory QD oled is better but Samsung botched the display driver in the S95F leaving the woled LG G5 the current best panel on the market which I hate because fuck LG, I refuse to give them another cent.

oled was invented by the japanese in the 80s but was abandoned because it was so shit until gooks dug it out the trashcan 40 years later

There is no debate. It's quite simple. The brighter the panel gets, the more washed out the color becomes. QD OLED fixes this

The perfect display would be a small box filled with nanites that dynamically create the scene like a moving diorama

While quantum dots are cool and all, the retarded purple tint from ambient lighting is because of them. It's less cursed than woled I guess.

Because there's no market for it. Vast majority of consumers value resolution and brightness the most. Something CRTs were never particularly great at. I can't imagine CRT technology with HDR support. They already were getting hot as hell and consumed way too much electricity just hitting SDR levels of brightness. Shit even OLED getting pretty warm at 55".
