>Ubuntu has snapshit and outdated packages
>Mint takes out the snapshit, but its DE options are all extremely ugly
>Fedora doesn't even come with fucking codecs, nor can you install Steam without first tinkering
>Bazzite fixes everything about Fedora, then cripples it by being Flatpak-only
>Nobara fixes everything about Fedora, then cripples it with its shitty package management
>CachyOS and EndeavourOS come with every sensible thing pre-installed, except for a proper package manager
Is Manjaro seriously the only distro that JUST FUCKING WORKS out of the box? A Plasma edition of Mint would solve everything. Codecs and RPMFusion being fully enabled on Fedora by default would solve everything. CachyOS/EndeavourOS shipping with a decent software centre like Discover of pamac would solve everything. Ubuntu not forcing snaps would solve everything.

I don't understand why distros are so committed to plugging OTHER distros' OOTB shortcomings, while refusing to fix their own QoL issues. I could recommend ANY of these distros to my grandma if they would all just fix one small thing each.

If I can set up the missing features in 10 minutes, then the devs can easily make them defaults and ship it.

I've never had codec issues with Debian, most proprietary codecs have had good enough free replacements for ages now
