Hanging around on a few imageboards on Tor (all practically dead btw) I noticed on several ones a sort of propaganda to try to make users use i2p instead, claiming that Tor is now totally compromised while i2p is unbreakable etc.

I think freenet+bittorrent protocol is still the golden standard of an actual "free internet". Where people can share information freely without censorship or fear of unintentionally and unknowingly hosting illegal content.
