Is there anyway I can get fellow programmers?
I used to easily beable to talk to and get other opensource programmers.

Now I can't talk to or find anyone.

everyone who knows C has a job and does not have the time to help you. Those who don't have a job are queer and dont like you in particular. Hire someone like you did before. Go do PD work for a few extra thousand

Have you tried not being a huge sperg?
Everyone knows your behavior and choose not to associate themselves.

>>Have you tried not being a huge sperg?
That would be disingenuous. Why do you want me to commit fraud in the inducement.
>Everyone knows your behavior and choose not to associate themselves.
They were fine associating with me from 2001-2005. It was all about freedom of speech, show us the code, we're a boys club, etc, we're doing this for free so we can have any opinions and beliefs we want, etc.

Why should I accept anything else?
I used to easily find likeminded people. It took mere moments.
I could go on an IRC, and then have people link up and we were a team within hours.

Now I just get banned, censored, shadowbanned, and can never speak to anyone.
So if I can never speak: how do you _know_ no one wants to associate with me?
No one can hear my message and evaluate it for themselves.

It used to be white straight guys. The whole opensource movement.
It was like swimming in water.
>are queer and dont like you in particular.
When did this happen? There used to be none of them.
Opensource used to be white and jewish guys only, all straight, no women, no trans, the only gays were the guy who did the gay alien model for Nexuiz. That's it.
Everyone liked loli too. Sesuki of Desu fame was beloved. They even made a model of her for Nexuiz.
>Hire someone like you did before.
I mostly do my own C code now. But that was the best money I ever _EVER_ spent.
I talked with Divverent for hours and hours and hours every day on IRC. About what
features I wanted, how it should be, what the goal is.
That code I still use.
I'm so glad I sent it all over to him for those months.
Nexuiz got:
1) Crypto networking
2) Unreal style Portals
3) no-need to compile lighting (fakelight)
4) in-map laser beams (misc laser)
some other things I can't remeber.

Later I was asked by him to do a Tuba model: so I did. It's still in Xonotic and they don't know it while they curse me on discord from time to time.
I also did the trigger_heal quakeC code for Nexuiz: so you could have things like the unreal levels where you go in a field to heal. It wasn't much but Divverent showed me how to do QuakeC (I had previously only done Perl, PHP, html, python, java, and some C)

>Go do PD work for a few extra thousand
What is that? PD?
I don't know how to make money at all.
I have:
1) A law license
2) A real estate license
and knowlege of C, Perl, QuakeC, PHP, Python, html, java, shell, grsecurity, gradm.

PD means a public defender. Anyone with a bar card can be a court appointed lawyer and get paid miserable but still relatively high hourly rates

Tbh I've been on the lookout for a forum which is similar to /dpt/. Maybe with a bit less n words, but I don't actually care. I really just want to see people post about their code, ask about code, and other programming related topics.

With the current setup of social media, focusing on engagement (& thus using an algorithm to suggest content), we have killed quite a lot of the organic discussion you would have on forums.
Now, the closest I get to seeing discussions online about Computer Science as a whole, is in the Machine Learning field. Anything else consists of 'influencers' discussing the next GPT / {{current_3_year_fad}} or how to make a SaaS B2B startup with $1,000,000 returns.
Platforms like twitter/reddit/whatever else there even is don't work for this shit. You can open the IRC/Matrix for something like Gnome, but at most it is a bug support channel.
I think you might also like a forum... Unfortunately they're dead or hiding, because I haven't found one. At least, not one with recent posts that aren't beginner questions like, 'what is a variable'
