Daggerfall Unity. Not just a remake of an existing game but far and away an improvement on it, to the point that it might as well be counted as a different game, IMHO.

Hands down one of the best FPSes I've ever played. It really colored my expectations for how good open-source games could be when I played it. Super disappointing how few games live up to that standard that aren't basically just remakes of existing games.

And yes I know my entry was Daggerfall Unity, it was either that or Tux Kart, so sue me.
