I would cope with this because I love foldables but they're not only more vulnerable but ALSO expensive as shit and it's largely for a cosmetic. Yeah yeah foldables let you look at two pages at once or whatever... it's a cosmetic.

Genuinely retarded take, the average smartphone has a smaller volume than the average old flip phone. Would you rather carry a sheet of paper in your pocket or a crumpled ball of paper? This is the comparison you're making.

Feature phones used to have plastic resistive touchscreens.
It was perfectly fine,
Used to carry them around without a case and drop them occasionally.
Eventually you'd get some shallow scratches but no big deal.

In fact modern glass screens break far more often and in far more dramatic ways than those old plastic screens.
Zoomzooms don't know but phones used to be nearly indestructible.

I think the test is assuming you aren't using the pre applied screen protector for no reason. I think Samsung even run a promotion where they give you one free replacement after two years if you buy in store or something.

I had a Z Flip3, worst phone I have ever owned since the windows phone. It had two good points:
1. Storing it while folded nice, took up no space.
2. It would stand itself up while you were reading and you could use the bottom half like a trackpad to scroll.

Flaws:
1. If I even somewhat folded the phone the display would turn off and not come back on.
2. The screen scratched easily
3. The screen develops a crease.

I assume it was either a software bug reading a value wrong, or hardware reporting a value wrong. You can find people complaining about it on the samsung support page, where they give no solutions. Had a friend warranty his back or trade it in for the problem as well. As soon as you fold the phone a bit, it would turn off the display, but it would not lock android. Meaning your phone believes its unlocked and visible, but for whatever reason you cannot use the display. You could get the display to turn on by locking & unlocking, but it would immediately turn itself off again. This would continue happening for less than 15 minutes, but more than 5.
I did some tests, and I kept my phone on the table and folded it slightly and unfolded it, where it would do this. No bumping, banging, whatever.
This problem only began after my warranty ended go figure.
I did not purchase the phone, it was a gift some years ago. But, if I had a second chance, I would immediately return the phone and buy the samsung A15 I have now.

I want you to go find an old flipphone that is also 6 inches long, 4 inches wide, and more than a quarter inch thick. My Iphone 5 was bigger than my flip phone, and every phone I have owned since has dwarfed that iphone 5.
