You ever noticed how hard freedesktop tries to copy the macOS experience? Here are some examples:
>uses reverse-domain-notstion everywhere (e.g. org.freedesktop.systemd1)
>systemd was/is a blatant copy of launchd minus the plist (XML) configs
>gsettings is basically macOS' defaults preference database
>pipewire is extremly similar to CoreAudio
Why are they trying to imitate macOS so goddamn much? I am aware that every exec at the Linux Foundation uses a Mac, but holy shit, this is bad. Almost zero innovation, yet the Linux desktop is still as dysfunctional as ever. It's not like Apple's OS is designed well, in fact, it's quite shit with massive amounts of technical debt. And the best thing about their retardation is, that you're forced to use it.

I hadn't until you pointed it out. It explains a lot. GNU+Linux has become worse over the last decade and a half. Now I have something to point at.

Also the point isn't innovation. I am aware that Apple didn't invent reverse domain notations, dumbass. freedesktop.org did however took that idea from Apple to use it in the OS to uniquely identify programs.

Wanna count the things Apple copied or bought from others? Like the whole iPhone for instance? Or the whole operating system?

Apple did actually release their modifications for a large number of cucklicensed software despite not being asked by the license.

I don't know. Maybe it's because macOS was for years the only UNIX usable on desktop that didn't required to be an autistic T2D patient fatso.
