Switch to Linux Mint or Debian. Linux Mint basically is just Ubuntu without snaps. Wouldn't hurt to try branching out into the Fedora or Arch based distros.

I'm making a post-install setup script for Fedora KDE that:

I've tested it on a VM and it works, but sometimes it hangs on commands and I'm not sure why. Any other defaults (in applications or even Plasma itself) that you guys would want to see?
