this happens to me every fucking reboot it drives me NUTS. the only way i can get fedora to shut down faster is to manually log out of kde and sit there at the login screen for a few seconds before clicking the reboot button

i'm convinced this depends on your meme distro. back when i used linux mint it'd always kernel panic and never shut down, but on garuda linux even when watchdog doesn't stop it just proceeds and shuts down anyway

nowatchdog in your boot params and blacklist the watchdog modules specific to your cpu. tho its not their fault something isn't working properly. everytime this has happened to me the culprit was also causing long boot times
