What can even be done at this point?

Status Quo:
> internet becomes even more overrun by more intelligent bots
> 4chan has been more than susceptible to bot posting for the 5 years ( https://youtu.be/efPrtcLdcdM?t=538 )
> Amazon and other large retailers product reviews flooded with 5star reviews.
> Social media flooded with bots trying to mass-influence public opinion

Digital ID:
> No privacy, everything tied to your RL identity
> Website owners can at least try to confirm (?) human users from bots
> Retailers will likely implement systems that allow bots
> Social medial will probably be quiet until someone figures out a way to flood the sites with stolen IDs

I don't see a way out.
Its just going to be advertisement and influence bots flooding until we all go back to finding friends IRL. And holy fuck that's an exhausting experience.

Bots need to make certified purchases on Amazon before they can post reviews

There are other ways to do this that don't involve IDing all humans.

I keep thinking that the solution will be creating small, private communities with a moderately high barrier to entry. Obscure forums where you have to fill a questionnaire in order to register. And then maybe those little islands of sanity could become a federation, and provide some space to roam for the rare independent thinker.
