>>106149871 It's no science to have modern laptops work with linux. Some might have problems with like speakers not working or the fingerprint scanner but nothing major. That being said as the guy said advanced optimus works best with windows, at the very least if it is supposed to just werk. Battery life is gonna be great if it does work. That being said don't get a legion pro, those have hx chips which use too much power. Get one with a HS (AMD) or H (Intel) chip. The legion 7 / legion slim 7 (same thing) have it. Depending on your games you could just make your life easier and see if you get a good deal on a maxed out strix halo laptop.

>>106149680 (OP) I got one of those fuckers with gen 13 shintel and 4080. It hasn't even been a year and the CPU is already dying. It's on warranty for a couple more years though but getting that shit repaired/replaces takes weeks and weeks. Fuck intel.
the extra software you want gone can be uninstalled, or if you do a clean, new install of Win10 or Win11 IoT LTSC as should be done, the extras won't be present if you don't want them
Get anything made before 2023 for better results, change the thermal paste if the previous owner hasn't, and git gud, n00b
