>PCI SIG attempted to pull off moar's law bandwidth growth in 1995+30
I hate these standards committees so fucking much. Always releasing over-engineered kikery (spec download behind $500 paywall btw) that nobody can implement, let alone implement correctly. Always ends up being a buggy mess with little to no software support, only being implemented by the companies that sponsor the committee (Intel, novideo,AMD,the likes)
>MIPI
>PCI-SIG
>DDR
all have held back technological development by YEARS with their sekrit club engineering autism. Purely for the benefit of silicon companies.

not a single consumer GPU that still uses PCIv4 to it's full potential even. This isn't for gaymers or cryptotards

>LOOK WE DEFINED A NEW PCI STANDARD THAT MEANS IT'S PRACTICALLY VIABLE AND ECONOMICAL!!!!111!11
Does no one here remember the fucking active cooling most pci 5.0 chipsets need? We might as well give a 7.0 chipset its own 6 pin power connector and its own 120mm fan, can't wait for a shitty 12 pin connector to burn down your house because you're using pci 9.0....

PCI-SIG does not give a fuck about home users. Whatever we get is datacenter leftovers.
