the bot-like regularity of FUD should tell you everything you need to know about this laptop :)

"sustainable" companies are a grift 100% of the time. i do not want to buy in to another proprietary ecosystem with spare parts coming from only one place. and i'm not paying a 150% premium just to be smug about it. if you absolutely must buy a laptop even though they're all by definition ewaste, it is tautologically more green and sustainable and consumer-friendly to buy used.

I just bought a used ThinkPad T14 Gen 3 AMD Ryzen 6850U 32GB for $450, literally near perfect condition.
I swapped in a 1600p 500-nit DCI-P3 120Hz IPS LCD with very good response times.
Battery life is actually really good because Ryzen Rembrandt gets better battery life than the newer Ryzen chips.
Even the cheapest Framework config costs $800, and that's with no ram or storage and an LCD with bad ghosting.

>spare parts coming from only one place
relatively speaking, the other laptop brands only sell spare parts for business laptop lineup and they cease to supply them after the product gets discontinued.
Non-business laptop has to rely on the warranty service and it usually only covers it for a year.
Framework is superior at long term repairability whether you like it or not.

Is there a reason why the Framework community has a larger than normal percentage of mentally ill individuals?

They are decent little laptops. I use one of the new 13" ones as my Linux workstation when Im travelling. 12 Core Zen 5, 64GB Ram, 2880x1920 120Hz display, decent enough keyboard, 2.5Gb ethernet, great battery life. I can even play CS2 on the iGPU

They are a little over priced but not hugely. Pretty solid for what you get

Whats your actual problem with them OP? This level of seethe and butthurt cant just be from jealousy so whats the issue?

They're running the company to the ground. The people who buy Framework laptops are all power users and do their due diligence, and the CEO and their marketing team are trying to shove slop down our throats. Framework 16s are still stuck on outdated Zen 4's and don't even offer an Intel option.

Ive only got a 13 and Im very happy with it. Still being stuck on Zen 4 for the 16 is a bad look though, I hadnt realized that

What Intel option would you like to see? Its not like Intel have great mobile options right now

You are either full of shit or have no idea what you are talking about. The battery is great for a 13", 12 core machine with a bright 2880x1920 120Hz display

I get a full work day on battery when Im traveling which is about 7 hours actual use and I normally have 15-20% battery remaining. A chunk of that use is building C code and buildroot projects which is a heavy all core load and high battery use. On the Dell XPS 13 I was using before this I would get about 4.5 - 5 hours before battery death. The only small system that has enough CPU power to match it and can beat it on battery life is the 14" MacBook Pro with the M4 Max but that costs over twice the cost of the FW13
