I did that on my 2015 MacBook Pro
Otherwise trying Linux is good but the only thing that my Linux machine does that my Mac doesn’t is run FontForge without FF crashing

extra software available like excel, which you might or might not need
more unified experience, ie you can find a retard-proof how-to for 95% of everything you'll ever want to accomplish
apple ecosystem is pretty good if you have multiple apple devices

apple just keeps fucking nagging you with their bullshit popups and "update now / let me ask you again 20 seconds later" instead of "update now / late / shut the fuck up about it"
hardware is good but expensive for Good Shit like large internal SSD, soldered everything
you might get too comfy in apple's walled garden, eventually turning into niggercattle unwilling to leave for greener pastures (like people upgrading to win11)
apple will be hard-pressed not to enshittify in the next 2 years or so given how much pressure their profits will soon be, in practically every market, and for a variety of reasons
