What does /g/ use for forum software? I know forums are a dying breed, but there are still plenty of them.

idk but Discourse is subhuman shit
the point of a forum is accessibility, as in click on category->topic->thread->page and you find what you're looking for in 3 or 4 clicks instead of modern scrolling cancer where you need to scroll 8 minutes and wait for content to load until you reach a certain post you need.

Xenforo seems okay but it's expensive and they can pull your license, the free options appear to generally be either awful (discourse) or out of date.

AI consuming forum archives without attribution or compensation isn't indicative of forums themselves doing well.

I only ever worked with phpBB. It used to be the big one used everywhere. So now it's very prone to spambots. Also doesn't look "modern".
