Not only that but also most people had a negative reaction to the smug Mac guy and liked the goofy PC guy. Terrible casting as Hodgman was simply a more likable actor than Justin.
In later ads they tried to compensate by making PC whiny and aggressive and toning down Mac's smugness but by then it was too late. Apple was speaking mainly to its base. Apple fans loved the ads but it failed at attracting the general public. The ads in the UK were better cast and directed for the intended purpose of selling Macs.

Gotta love how those ads never mentioned games.
Something the "boring" PC was always infinitely better at.

iOS is not even 1% worldwide.
Only a small fraction of Americans use it because "Apple computers are easier".

Both. Windows 11 is still the dominant force and that allows macOS to thrive in its own way. 11 still doesnโ€™t have an equivalent for some basic Apple software like Notes, Reminders, Messages or creative software like Logic Pro. MacOS still takes it up the ass with its lousy audio management.

Peak performance is Windows desktop + Apple laptop. You get the best of all worlds with that setup.

As someone who grew up a Microsoft hardo

It was Windows during Win7/Win10
It's now Mac thanks to Win11 and other features of Microsoft decline

It's not that Mac is improving it's just that they're treading water and staying true to form while Microsoft compromises everything possible. Can't believe I'm on a Mac now (and way less annoyed).

both can be used as office boot loaders
what kills windows is insisting on its shitty legacy dos user space while macos is fully unix compatible
that makes windows instantly
>outdated
>incompatible

Mac was too childish for me in the 2000's. Windows let you do anything and it also performed well and wasn't full of bugs and bloatware. Really, a good OS doesn't even make you aware it's there, because that's what it's supposed to do, be in the background facilitating not in your way. Win11 has been like this

>randomly freezing consistently
>occasionally crashing randomly
>full of bloat that's randomly using my CPU
>ads snuck into various places
>a disgusting frankenstein UI that literally uses Win7, Win10, or Win11 UI style at random depending on whether it was updated or not

In other words: Indian fingers are all over it now. I notice it, constantly, when I shouldn't.
