is this utterly based? Feels like openSUSE Tumbleweed should have gotten the praise Arch gets.
Don't get me wrong, Arch is fantastic but gets hyped up in unrealistic ways. For the average gayming fag/newcomer to Linux that wants rolling release openSUSE should be the way to go.

Europoor fedora with no real purpose for existence
>rolling release
enjoy your weekly kernel breakages

snake oil "automated testing" that catches no real issues
>non autistic commands for packet manager
The least intuinive cli out of all of them, terrible package grouping with patterns that you have to tinker to get rid off, and retarded provider system

>Europoor fedora with no real purpose for existence
Imagine seething this hard about a distro that actually has enterprise backing while your favorite meme distro gets maintained by three guys in their spare time
>enjoy your weekly kernel breakages
"Weekly breakages" - tell me you've never used Tumbleweed without telling me. Meanwhile Arch users are reinstalling their bootloader every Tuesday but somehow that's "stable"
>snake oil "automated testing" that catches no real issues
openQA literally tests more scenarios than your brain has wrinkles, but sure, call the most comprehensive automated testing framework in Linux "snake oil" while you manually pray your AUR packages don't nuke your system
>The least intuinive cli out of all of them, terrible package grouping with patterns that you have to tinker to get rid off, and retarded provider system
Patterns are actually genius for system administration but I guess thinking beyond "install individual package go brrr" is too advanced. Meanwhile you're manually tracking 47 dependencies like a caveman

Is this opensuse specific or linux specific?

OpenSUSE specific, you have to configure it in YAST and it can be a pain in the ass whereas it usually just works out the box on other distros.
It was a jab more than anything, I'm not using it at the moment but I really do like openSUSE.

Last time I tried a fresh install of Tumbleweed it was buggy beyond belief
shit was so bad it randomly kept turning off one of my displays
Had to switch to Leap to get a functional system again

I liked it when I used it. Problem is at it's less popular some .rpms you download are built for Fedora instead and then some dependencies have different names

Yeah I think so too. I've used both and Arch is much more painful. After switching to openSUSE a few years ago I haven't distrohopped since. So far it seems to have ended my hopping but we'll see. Sometimes I do it just to see if something is even better than my already functional system.

I had troubles with this too and the easiest fix was to disable the distro's firewall. After that I was able to find my network printer.

i agree with you other than kernel breakages. it does just werk. arch is way better of course so this distro is totally irrelevant other than a way to keep a fire lit under arch's ass.
if arch ever shits the bed (which it could), this would be an okay drop-in replacement.
