>>106161945 (OP) I use Strawberry. After using it for some time, I think I prefer it to MusicBee. The UI isn't as slick, but it does everything I need it to do.
>>106161945 (OP) It runs like shit in wine. But if you want the closest thing to it on linux that would be quod libet. Is it as good ? No, but it's good enough to switch to it and not feel like you're using prehistoric software. Believe me I tried them all. One of the things that made me delete my wangblows partition. >>106162206 Then you weren't using half of musicbee's features. Musicbee queueing system and it's library management features are world class.
>>106163275 Why would you care what's it's made with ? Musicbee is made with a gorrilion windows libraries and framworks that are just as reviled. It works and it more than can be said about most software

>>106163480 It really is THAT good. But it's not worth using windows for.
>>106163623 thx for the information, butt… >library search by tags find + fzf I guess, didn't need that anyway >bulk metadata editing find + ffmpeg, pretty easy but fairly GUI might be nice not that I'm going to edit tags 24/7 thoughbeit >smart playlists what's that? I don't like when things have "smart" in them, it's almost always retarded
>>106163695 >what's that automatic playlists that can be generated based on tags and other criteria. Not really "smart", but useful.
I used to be a minimalist cli-only faggot like you until I saw the light. there's a lot of garbage gui software I admit, but a good gui can be way better than cli.
>>106163726 I wouldn't call myself a minimalist cli-only faggot, after all I use Hyprland on one of my ThinkPads and it's nowhere near minimal, but really mpv does all I need: opens, plays music/video, closes. I mostly know what I want to listen to so I don't need tagging etc, but just for the rare cases when I do need a continuous playback of automatically selected music (i.e. smart playlists?) I'm planning to self-host a web radio (icecast) on a raspberry
