HDR only really works when you can change the individual brightness down to the pixel level.

I have an IPS and an OLED monitor
OP it just looks better overall, unless there's a lot of light in your room.
Also HDR is not a thing on IPS that's enjoyable
I keep the IPS for work and the OLED for mostly everything else. It's just a different thing altogether.

OLED is not harder on the eyes at all

i just got new 4k IPS because:
i will not tolerate any kind of burn-in
i will not lower brightness
i will not hide taskbar
i will not turn off lights
i will keep static windows open at all times
i will keep my monitor for 10 years before replacing it

retards complaining about oled burn in reminds me of the people who said ssds would never catch on because they don't last long enough. if you turn your monitor off when you're not using it then you won't have any problems.

HDR looks amazing on OLED. I was kind of impressed by the death stranding 2 hdr effect when watching this on my phone. I'm not paying $1500 for an oled monitor though.

I am actually employed and don't gayme. I need a display for work, not gayming. Desktop elements would burn in the OLED. And my eyes would be red and dry after long OLED hours. IPS solves this.
