RTX 50 Super: Q4 '25 rumored launch, 24GB VRAM for 5070 Ti & 5080 Super, 18GB for 5070 Super

>Omissions
RTX 5070 Ti: buy if you need CUDA, if you value DLSS/Reflex that highly, and if the 5060 Ti 16GB or 5070 isn't performant enough.
RTX 5070: buy if it's reasonably priced & if you plan to work around potential VRAM bottlenecks.
RX 9070 non-XT: worth considering if it's significantly cheaper than the 9070 XT.
Intel 13 & 14th gen i7/9 -K CPUs: BIOS update required due to reliability issues. Recommended to set a CPU VR voltage limit (1.4 or 1.45V).

>Product Notice
AOC Q27G40XMN: nice budget 1440p miniLED monitor but inconsistent QC.
Bad one causes DisplayHDR setting to look overbrightened and desaturated when applying the best local dimming option.

Gigabyte RTX 50 & RX 9000 video cards: thermal gel has QC issues, Gigabyte claims only early production batches were affected.
https://www.igorslab.de/en/update-on-thermal-putty-on-gigabyte-graphics-cards-after-further-storage-oil-separation-to-an-alarming-extent-and-silence-as-a-strategy/

Avoid updating Gigabyte motherboard's RGB controller firmware, as it can disable board features such as Q-Flash Plus.

US President Donald Trump met Wednesday with Nvidia Corp. Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang at the White House, as he readies sweeping new tariffs on semiconductor imports.

Trump says there will be a 100% tariff on all semiconductors entering the US
TRUMP ON TARIFFS:

SAYS U.S. WILL IMPOSE โ€œVERY LARGE TARIFFโ€ ON CHIPS AND SEMICONDUCTORS.

WE WILL BE PUTTING IN 100% TARIFF ON ALL CHIPS.

NOTES THERE WILL BE NO CHARGE FOR COMPANIES BUILDING OR COMMITTING INVESTMENT IN THE UNITED STATES.

Trump has that "I don't trust this snake" look. You also see it on Shark Tank.

If it was mine I'd want to get rid of that 3700x first. Don't think I would go to a new socket after this long, might as well wait for am6 or nova lake, or not since things move slow enough that am4 will be viable for another decade.

Unlike with LCDs there is an extremely narrow range of difference in the performance of one OLED to another. Your biggest choice to make is do you want 1440p or 4K?
1440p is cheaper ($485):
https://www.amazon.com/AOC-AG276QZD2-Tournament-2560x1440-Compatible/dp/B0D682HF6R

4K is sharper and has no color fringing @ 27" unlike the 1440p options ($708):
https://www.amazon.com/Alienware-QD-OLED-Gaming-Monitor-AW2725Q/dp/B0F148HG5M
That's it, that's the beginning and end of all there is to the market right now. You can pay more for different models but they won't be appreciably any different that these two buckets of panels.

They'll jack the price to $1000 anyway if they feel they can get people to pay for it.

The seething over what trump is doing annoys the fuck out of me because you let corpos jack up prices over the last few years without even a hint of restraint when it comes to buying.

You need some extra effort to set up search for locals but it can be done. I am not fully sure about "agentic" use like that, but I believe it should be possible.
I will be honest, I use API for serious work, I use locals mostly for gooning.

Is the 5700X3D even worth it anymore now that the days of it being cheap on Aliexpress are over?
I'm thinking that I could grab a tray 5700X for less than half price, then just use it at 1440p to minimise the impact of the CPU (but someone tell me if I'm being retarded)
Context being that I've got an old AM4 build lying around and want to get a bit of use out of it, maybe give it away.

Really overpaying for things like the cooler, case, and NVME. This is my suggestion for sames-spec alternatives for less money (and double SSD capacity):
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/QsJhpK
Since you've got the budget for it I'd recommend a 4K QD-OLED (this model comes with DisplayPort 2.1 so you're less reliant on DSC for a full-bandwidth signal):
https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/sj2j4D/msi-mpg-272urx-qd-oled-270-3840-x-2160-240-hz-monitor-mpg-272urx-qd-oled
And since you'll be dabbling in AI-generation, I do strongly recommend you wait on the Super refresh of the 5080.

Well yes, you should have a backup because paying more for a "brand name" model purchase you nothing in terms of any added guarantee of reliability. For end users the only real upgrades under the hood is going with TLC NAND over QLC for higher theoretical endurance (though in practice it's not a huge jump) and a DRAM chip and with modern HBM-based drives the latter doesn't even really offer much benefit when they can borrow some system RAM to create a pseudo-cache anyway.

But if >>106170363 really wants to pay more for an NVME there's still this which meets the above conditions without paying the Samsung tax:

you should feel less visual issues as the image is smoother most of the time
amd frame gen is better quality as it should take into account stuff like UI elements and motion vectors.
>The OptiScaler app by High Yield makes FSR 4 work in any game that supports Nvidia's DLSS 2 (or later) or Intel's XeSS. Additionally, it can enable Frame Generation in games that don't support it, and it can even add anti-lag support through Nvidia Reflex technologies.

Wont look into case specifics but:
>7800X3D vs 9800X3D, is it worth the extra money?
Yes
>Which AIO do I choose
Liquid freezer that fits, honestly an air cooler can be fine too if you are willing to power limit it a bit.
>Which PSU will fit
Case specs should tell you max PSU size. And then PSUs themselves tell you their sizes. From there, you can do the math.
>What memory to choose price/performance
2x16 6000 CL30 Corsair or Gskill is the boilerplate response to this question.
>How do I mount my two 3.5" HDD's, do I need to buy an external DAS/HDD enclosure
I am certain that shit won't fit there so yes. If you want hdds, why not get a bigger case though?
>I am keeping my 3080 for at least a few more years.
Good for you. Make sure its under GPU max size for that case. Also that it is not too thick.

If you just want the cheapest no-frills board that will get the job done without any problems (but still have things like USB 3.2 & Wifi) this model for $135 would be my selection:

If you've like a more midrange board with extra NVME slots for expand-ability this model by GB for ~$20 would be my splurge pick:

It's:
Greed
Post covid inflation
Moore's Law dying and cheap gains getting very difficult

>What's the best possible panel I can get if I don't want an OLED because of the inevitable burn-in?
You'll want a 4K 27" panel to maximize PPI/PPD sharpness and text clarity and MiniLED-based to maximuze brightness (both of which are the weaknesses of OLED so you maximize LCD's strengths if you are forgo those of OLED).

For all-around performance using IPS probably either the XV275K P3, Xiaomi 27i, or KTC M27P6
https://www.rtings.com/monitor/tools/compare/acer-nitro-xv275k-p3biipruzx-vs-xiaomi-g-pro-27i/39860/71604
https://www.displayninja.com/ktc-m27p6-review/

If you value pseudo-OLED contrast at the cost of viewing angles and some black smearing using VA the Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 S32BG85 (though PPI will be worse @ 32" and it's curved):

it's funny that there's no ultimate monitor; all the panels on the market right now require compromise in some area.
So it depends on what you are going to use it for and value the most.

is all you got. OLED won the panel wars and when tandem oled come out for monitors lcd screens will only be available for super cheap throw away office panels.

I don't for the hit to pixel density and therefore sharpness (@ 32" you ideally want 5K+) but if the larger size is more your comfort then:
The LG 32GR93U-B or LG 32GQ950-B in terms of overall panel spec/tuning or possibly the Acer Predator X32 FP
https://pcmonitors.info/reviews/acer-predator-x32-fp/
https://www.rtings.com/monitor/tools/compare/lg-32gr93u-b-vs-lg-32gq950-b/40717/33379

If you don't mind 60Hz (read little to no gaming) then I recommend the ASUS ProArt Display PA27JCV or Apple Studio Display both 5K:

If your 5900 was good enough, you wouldn't even care about upgrading at all. The fact that we're having this discussion at all is proof that you're already feeling the edge.
You really plan on feeling that edge for three more years? If it's this bad now, it's only going to get worse. And then it'll only be two years, or one year, and it'll be even harder for you to justify getting out.

tarriffs can ruin demand. if something is affordable it creates demand. demand is based on affordability. you can afford some hobby, you go into it. if it becomes to expensive, you get out of it. there's no implicit demand as it's not really needed. you can get by with some price increase, but 2x that bitch and you kill the sector.

Electricity is pretty cheap where I live so it's not much of an issue. I went for an air cooler instead of an AIO for two reasons:
1/ I don't need to replace it after a while
2/ I don't want to deal with pump noises
Or is an AIO that much of an upgrade?

The gpu isnt about electricity, its about how much the fans need to work to dissipate heat per frame produced. More efficient = less noise. 9070 xt is basically overclocked by default.

AIO benefit is that the water absorbs heat, and during long workloads it produces less decibels than an air cooler at same perf.

A proper AIO should be quieter while being better at cooling. Big air cooler can also have issues with clearance.

Do you have a job?

Then dont buy oled and cry about being poor privately before you go to sleep.

How're you supposed to genuinely know if a certain CPU cooler - motherboard - GPU combo will actually fit together?
It feels like the data for motherboard dimensions is often pretty incomplete as well.

its more likely a problem for mini itx builds

For big cpu coolers ram clearance is important and many offer an option where you can raise 1 fan to not hit the ram sticks.

Then gpu isnt near the cpu cooler so it never conflicts. Gpu can fail to fit an itx case however.

My previous build with an MSI b150 mortar and a True Spirit 120 M BW rev.A ended up being a nightmare where the cooler would only fit at a 90 degree angle blowing upwards.

Is 5060ti good for 1080p ultra settings in all the new AAAslop gaming and at least tolerable in AI image gen?

Any nVidea drivers concerns that should be considered?

If you want a modular PSU, please check first if cable ports are coming from the opposite end from where your power cord is going, this case has a retarded guard for PSU bracket that blocks sides of it.
