Corsair owns the Elgato, and of course, Corsair is a crappy company that's like calling a McDonald's hamburger fine dining, and Corsair is the McDonalds of PCs.
stuff will work, but it's usually overpriced and not worth what you're paying, it doesn't last long and the quality is very low, even the name is big.

it really is a good way to explain Corsair.
because they're the McDonald's of PCs, which is NOT a good thing.
i've had nothing but trouble with Corsair for everything, their power supplies have never worked, i've had so many come in and none of them ever turned on.

Elgato stuff is still halfway legit, for now. You'll never believe who owns Corsair tho. No, but really. All their products across the board are currently in the enshittification process and slowly being value engineered to death.

Their PSUs are great, and are often sold way below their actual price.
t. bought rm650x in 2020 for about 40 bux.

Well, *someone* seems upset about the BlackRock owned purveyor of plastic consoomer trash of ever dubiouset quality being called out. What's your issue then Corsair anon? CPU cooler leaking, again?

Their PSUs are basically just rebrands I've heard, don't know what their new stuff is like but their older PSUs are good

Wonder for how long blackrock has been a shareholder, probably after 2019 or so when corsair showed support for BLM

PSUs are Seasonic afaik. RAM is usually legit, extreme doubt they manufacture that either. iCue stuff is hit or miss and a lot of the headphones are sketchy trash. Otherwise it's buy Other People and produce it cheaper, Elgato, etc. And concentrate on the marketing. tldr, it's rebadged chinkshit, mostly.

at least my corsair wireless headset still functions, ignoring the mic that broke 6 years ago and the battery that I replaced.

Looks like blackrock started to invest in corsair in around 2021-2022, found a few news stories

Don't know when the BLM thing started but I know corsair showed support for it on social media

no idea anon.
The problem with Corsair and ops point, they can produce both generally agreed reasonable quality, PSUs, and utter shite, most of the headphone range for example, at the same time. So people can defend them, or point out they are punting complete chunk trash, and both be right. But experience tells us, the longer you are owned by hedge funds etc. the more direction trash you shall go.
