Caused mine, but I kept it dualbooted until I gave the SSD with my Arch install away. Did go Arch entirely until I started playing Fortnite with cousins and younger siblings and I keep the install in case we end up doing that all over again in the future. One day I'll get a new SSD for Arch and get back to dualbooting... one day...

Truth be told I just really hated the forced updates when my family always had shite office PCs back when I was 15-17 and would liveboot Ubuntu to do homework faster. Nowadays if I were to dump Windows it'd be because of recall or a lot of paranoia

yes i've recently distrohopped from Arch to Cachy OS. Surprised by how polished it was compared to the vast majority of other Arch-based distros, and it has the optimized binaries by default as a nice bonus.

I moved back, because Nvidia driver on Linux still cannot swap VRAM and RAM in today's day and age. Basic feature and it's still not implemented in the driver.

It depends on what you want to do with. If you need Adobe/CAD/whatever shit for work, then of course you are gonna need it, and Linux will be hellish for you. At the very least, you will want a second Windows machine to use for work.

But if all you want to do is play games and watch shows and what-not, then the only reason to stick with Windows is not wanting to spend time learning how to switch to and use Linux. Linux is just way nicer and faster.

I've stuck with gentoo for over 10 years now. Distrohopping is just a symptom not understanding how to use a distro. For a consumer, it's just a difference of package management, maybe a few system directories are a little different, and some tools to do the same task might be a little different. If you've tried 4-6 distros and you still think something about the next one will be different enough to warrant the effort, then you're probably stupid because obviously you just don't like linux stuff.

I'm fine with mint on my 10 year old computer, if and when I can get something recent , I could potentially reevaluate getting something arch based though i have played with dif ones in virtual machines but for now the ubuntu/debian base is fine for me.
