With ongoing restrictions on age verification, VPNs, speech, expression, and so on, as well as the big tech services going to shit, it's becoming clear that the World Wide Web as it was originally set up is not inherently as decentralized or as free as many had originally thought. It's starting in places like the UK and Australia, but appears to be imminently coming to the USA and other countries as well.
This makes me think, maybe it needs to start over. Perhaps the internet needs to be redesigned with guarantees on the privacy, security, decentralization, and freedom that we care about, not just spoken ideals about it.
Discuss alternate web technologies.
