I am trying to get gpt5 to read construction drawings and it literally gives me some excuse about how it reads a series of 1s and can't make sense of it. I ask it a very simple task: to give me the paint color to be used (there is only one paint color) and it straight up invents a paint color that doesn't exist.

I was hoping to use AI in the construction industry but it looks like it can't parse PDF files that don't have a linear reading path-like a book or something. When the PDF has multiple sections of text and drawings, it completely fails

Just an FYI, if you're uploading documents covered under an NDA into an AI platform you're most likely violating said legal agreement.
