The consensus tends to be that Mullvad is the most secure since you don't even need to make an account with them and they take payment in crypto, card, and cash by mail.
Proton is also considered one of the best and their proton unlimited bundle also comes with more secure email, drive storage, and a password manager. They try to be a general replacement to degoogle.
I've used both services and you couldn't go wrong with either.
