it simply has huge inspiration from miami vice and just the 80s in general, also yeah idk what you're fucking talking about with the "japanese cartoon" thing, in short the 1980s was the best time to be an adult with a chip on your shoulder in an amazing economy, where all companies were over the top and weren't shit quality

It's directly inspired by Nagel.

Now I'm thinking how much of that art is created by artificial intelligence. I saw an AI generated GTA Egypt video in youtube and it looked amazing. It made me forget all the prevous games in the series.

The comic book panels, showing characters and vehicles.
They also look more like the characters than some of the III character art.
Though I think a lot of the sovl comes from the game's story, the 80s setting and the music. I fucking love that game.
Breaks my heart that the lack of PS backwards compatibility and not wanting to re-buy a game I have makes it infeasible to still play.

There's a formula to it. I replicated one for my city once. Long time ago. Notice how all covers have a helicopter top left. Car bottom row. Usually a closeup face mid top. A girl at either cardinal direction of main logo, adjacent. An alternative non-car vehicle. One of the panels always has a character holding something. At least one panel with a weapon ready to be used. At least one panel that's fast/dynamic.

The Vice City text is just so cool. It is very readable, clean, and has that neon look to it. Masterful work whoever did that.
