Because bikes fought so hard to have special lanes, wider roads and bike routes paid for using tax payer money and then demand the same respect as a vehicle...
And yet:
You don't use the bike lanes
You use the bike lanes but ride close to the traffic rather than closer to the curb
You ride in the wrong bike lane
On single lane roads you don't pull over when there's traffic to let it pass, they have to wait for a clear way to legally pass your 10 mph ass
You ride on public sidewalks, for people and animals as well as use puedestrian crosswalks
You people never signal which, legally, you're supposed to
You ride through traffic stop signs all the time and don't respect other signage that's applicable to vehicles
So the question is why SHOULDN'T people fucking hate you? You're reckless, dangerous, self-important incompetents who want special treatment without wanting to follow the rules.
Bike riders are, by and large, inconsiderate to a fault and if you want people to respect you then you need to earn it by NOT DOING THE SHIT PEOPLE HATE all the time.
