That's the problem with complacency.
Recording is never something you do normally, it's what someone does when someone's confident in their ability. Adding your camera to the mix adds worry and throws off muscle memory, because you're most likely doing something risky.
A personal example is parkour. I use to skip school to climb with a bunch of guys. One day one of the guys missed a landing on a kong vault, luckily only broke a wrist but in the video he turns his head and looks at the camera mid air.
We always recorded for each other but he set his phone down, so concerned it would fall out of frame or something he fucked up. Could have lost teeth, fell 10 foot or something worse than a broken wrist.
