the issue was not money or even a bait-and-switch. many of the girls went there in full knowledge that they were going to shoot porn, were paid what they were promised, had normal shoots and a good experience, even came back more than once.
the issue was that at some point they conspired to commit fraud with the "private collector in Australia" lie, which they buttressed by connecting the girls with other girls who either 1) were being paid to lie or 2) hadn't yet had their own videos released online yet
that they did that is absolutely incontrovertible because they have emails/texts/recorded phone conversations.
adding insult to injury, after the videos came out, if the girls complained they didn't just ignored them but doxxed them, sent the video to their families, etc.
they would have gotten way with everything else -- stiffing the girls for payment, coercive methods to get them to follow through, etc -- none of which were uncommon in porn at that time -- if not for the distribution lie. they're idiots that belong in prison.
