Truth is they're *trying* to look more masculine, more assertive, or more "professional"; they **know** it will make them less attractive.
But the funny thing is it usually fails it's intended purpose and they just come across as mannish, but not in a way that means they'll be taken more serious professionally.
It just looks like a woman without femininity, which makes them less valued as human beings, by men and *paradoxically* by women too.
Men and women are obligated to play the game of life differently. You don't get anywhere trying to play by the other gender's rules.
