Already happening, look up meshy.ai. It can already create decent 3D models with skeletons and basic animations but the animation quality is still only on par with what you get in unmodded Skyrim. It's already good enough to make early 2000's level game models and animations. It even makes animations for models not generated by the AI.

There is no "improvement." They set the quality by how they make the model. To scale up takes exponentially more resources, and they are already burning tens of millions of dollars per training exercise.
