If I'm going to upscale it will usually be a web source or something whose raw DVD is no longer easily available. AI upscaling has a real garbage in/garbage out problem which leaves a small sweet spot of vides that don't look too uncanny after upscaling. This is Remy's 2012 fh8 or massagegirls shoot that looks alright embiggened to my eyes, and those websites released mostly in 480p and 720p later on. And the PS2 was still getting PES and FIFA releases in '12 so it counts, barely.
